Default 1988 battery warning light

Fri. night, parked my car at home. Everything checked ok. Went to use it Sat. and the battery warning light was on. Flickering a little. Flipped on the
voltage readout and it showed 11.6v with car running. Checked the battery with the car off and it was 12.43v. Running it was again 11.6v. Took the
alternator out and had it tested at O'Reillys. They checked it 5 times and it showed it is fine with an output of 14.77v.
Does anyone have an idea about whats going on, or what i should be looking for? Car electronics and i aren't the smartest.

Assuming Oreilly is correct, your wiring is suspect. Inspect all batt. & alt wiring and connectors, plus tightness of all connectors

You are right. Pulled the boot back for the red wire that hooks to the alternator, and i could see where it got hot. The underneath of the
shrink hose was corroded. Cut it off and put a new one on. Works fine. Thanks, and problem is solved.
