Any pulley replacement for A/C?
I've removed my A/C from my 88 C4. However I've kept in the motor and pulley assembly to keep serpentine belt in stock placement. Looks ugly. Any replacement bracket assembly like the air-pump pulley replacement kit available? This car does 11.5 on motor only. Just installed nitrous. Should be low-mid 10 sec car easy. No need for A/C as this is not a grocery getter. More chrome on the engine the better. Help! :chevy

Re: Any pulley replacement for A/C? (bogus)
Thanks for your reply. Yeah that's what I've heard from serveral people.
Thought I'd "float" the question in the Forum to see if anyone has found anything in a kit form. Seems aftermarket companies can't imagine why anyone would take the air out of a vette. Oh well. The car will be in the Chevy-Vettefest in Chicago November 23-24. Maybe I'll get some ideas looking at other hot rods. Thanks. :seeya
I removed my ac stuff. I just took it all out completely. Then I cut the serpentine belt. Then you just wrap it around all the pulleys but go the other way around the tensioner than stock. Overlap the cut belt and pull it tight. Then make a line on the part of the belt where they overlap. This will give you close to the measurement you need for a new belt. I think mine was a 735k6. I tried to add a picture of my belt routing to show you but the new forum software isn't quite ready. It won't let me into my pictures. I have had mine routed this way for a couple years with no problems. Doug Rippie told me to do it this way.
I recently saw a bracket that would replace the A/C compressor. It bolted right in to the stock mount. It had a pulley to maintain the stock belt. But I can't find where I saw it. It might have been from a link someone on the forum provided. Sorry. But there is something out there. :(
