Since the office closed early today to give the staff an early start to the long weekend I had the chance to check out my MAP sensor. Took out my meter to check voltage to see reading at connector. With the key on did get a reading, but had trouble getting a clean reading holding the hot side probe steady with one hand while having a decent ground with other probe. Will have more time tomorrow to screw around to ensure a proper reading. The vacuum line is in good shape and the wiring looks good.
It did take an extended crank time to get engine to start, but once started it idled with the miss. With it idling I disconnected the connector causing engine to run much worse almost stalling within a couple of seconds before I pushed the connector back on. So it definitely looks like the sensor is working to a certain extent. Can a MAP sensor partially work or is it all or nothing?
Again, motor runs fine at higher rpm once it gets past the initial stumble.
