New to forum, looking for help to understand fuel issue.
Engine will start briefly and then flood out without any pedal applied.
When car was drivable, it had issue of idle increasing and decreasing by its self.
Removed plugs to find wet. After dried plugs again brief start then flood.
With air cleaner cover off look Down the Barrels have someone cycle key but not Start Car The injectors Should not Drip if they do their Leaking. With car running again Look at Injectors It should look Like rain on the Plate Not a Hose.
if all is well there Look at a weak Ignition.
Cross fire is unique to 82 and 84. You want to get 1984 Corvette factory manuals.
Flooding : codes? Vacuum leak(s) CFI uses MAP sensor low vacuum equals more fuel.
Injectors dripping fuel or cycling with key in run engine off?
Coolant sensor. Early sensor used round connector should be replaced with revised inline 2 terminal sensor and connector. Lower coolant temperature more fuel.
Ground wires tight and not corroded
Increasing/decreasing idle is a sign of a too lean A/F ratio.
Kevova has a good suggestion to see if the injectors are leaking fuel when pressurized but not running.
Do you have access to a scan tool? If you do, I'd get it on data stream and fire it up, throttle it to keep it running and start looking at things that don't "jibe". Something won't.
