Default C4 coolant temperature sensor

I have a 1986 C4 with a round connector. GM only has an oval one. Is there an adapter plug or how to I get the proper sensor?

The correct single wire (spade connector) temp gauge sender is ACDelco 2134793. The single (round connector) wire fan sensor is ACDelco 1852B. The two wire (oval connector) 1551107 is used as the air temperature sensor as well as coolant temperature for the ECM

Are you talking about the device installed in the block between cylinders #1 and #3 by any chance?

I have a 1988 C4 and it has the "B4P" auxiliary cooling fan where you have a second fan mounted as a Pusher fan in front of the radiator. Check your build list in the glove box for the codes I mentioned

The Coolant Temperature Sensor is mounted on the front of the intake and has THREE wires going to it. The sensor mounted on the front left side of the engine is a single wire and it just goes to ground at a specific temperature which turns on the fan.

The CTS is a more precise device for measuring temperature but it uses three wires on my 1988 C4. One wire if the Reference voltage, one a Signal return and one a ground.

Please take a picture of the sensor in question and one of us should be able to identify it for you.

Do you have a set of the Factory Service Manuals for your particular year Corvette? The FSM comes with a complete electrical book that has the parts identified and the schematics as well. Very useful to have when you own a thirty some year old Corvette.

Best regards,
Chris
