T5 in an 87
i've got an 87 that had an auto, i had a T5 out of a camaro in my shed well it is in the car, everything works ecept the trans mount. i am thinking about making a mount that goes from two cross braces on either side of the engine then make a V right under the trans mount and then something to go from that to the diff.
does anyone have any pics or ideas for this kind of install.

i thought about using a t5 before, the concensus seems to be that it won't handle a 350 or larger engine, thats why they came in 305 irocs. also the torque beam would be very difficult. i like to mcgiver things but this one would be hard. if i had access to a hoist so that i could get under the car to work better i would have gone for it. :cheers:

T5 is junk. It cant handle the torque of the vette. It will break if you put it in an 87.
Hell it barely holds together in smaller engined cars.

The reason the 4+3 was introduced was because there were no cost effective 5-speeds capable of handling the torque at the time the C4 was introduced. The T-5 wasn't up to the job, so the Super T-10 4-speed was mated to the 2-speed automatic for an overdrive.
