Default 4+3 help in NoVA

I'm looking for a shop or 4+3 specialist to service/repair my 4+3 transmission (again) in the Northern VA area - or ANYWHERE on the East Coast. I'm fully aware of the benefits and shortcomings on the 4+3, but I'm giving this thing 3 strikes before I part out the car. This would be the second repair/rebuild, and I'm happier rebuilding 3 times rather than doing a ZF or Tremec swap given the overall condition of the car.

Awesome intel. Thanks. I have my thrust washer in a nice plastic baggie...after it broke into 3 pieces and ended up in the pan. I'm hesitant to do the ZF swap for the same reasons you outlined above, and I don't want to sink a bunch of money into an engine/drive train swap. Too many electronic systems that could be fubar'd and the car's not in that good of shape anyway. Could be a good shell to eventually build a track car, but it seems like such a waste for such a beautiful car. But as I've learned as I've aged, beauty is only skin deep!

After watching the video, it looks like I have a planetary system washer in my baggie, not the thrust washer as I was led to believe by my local shop. Either way, thanks for the intel and I'll keep doing my homework on this. Can't believe I didn't turn to YouTube sooner...

If you want a track car I was building mine but Medicial has stopped that 88 4+3 I just haven't put it up yetFor sale is my 1988 Chevrolet Corvette.

No it is not a beauty queen, I Was setting it up for track use.

It has around 156,000 miles on it.

It has the 350 TPI Eng and Doug Nash 4X3 manual transmission.

The rear drive train has been rebuilt with all new

Wheel hubs, complete Poly bushings, new gas shocks.

New U joints in the Half shafts and drive line, drive line was re-balanced.

It has the Dana 44 Rear end, and was completely rebuilt with a new Dana R+P, in 3.73

ratio and rebuilt positraction differential.

I also have all the necessary parts to rebuilt the fount end, new hubs,

poly bushings, upper and lower ball joints, new shocks.

It has a set of 1990 17 X 9 Corvette Wheels and new 275/45/17 tires as of 3 years

ago only about 500 miles on them if that. Also have the original 16 X 8 wheels with tires.

Seats were replaced, also have new foams for a 1989 to 1993 corvette,

Cat was removed I have it, also have a set of LT exhaust manifolds, New braided SS brake lines and a few other parts. Also have 2 SBC engines, 350 that came out of a 1975 corvette had a flat cam, have parts to refresh it with new pistons, also have a 400 SB that came out of my 1978 K10 pickup that I got new, was refreshed about 19 years ago with new heads, about 5000 miles on the refresh, bearings, rings. It has been sitting for the last 15 years
