Default 1.6 and stack valve covers

When you look inside the valve covers on a 92 there are 2 drip tabs next to ewach other one longer then the other. Do both come out ? Or just the longest one ?

Use a cutoff wheel or Dremel tool with a cutoff wheel.

You can try to snap them off with a pair of pliers, but some have found that it can snap off more than they want and end up with a hole in the top of the valve cover.

After cutting the tabs off, clean the inside of the covers real good to get out all of the metal shavings.

How far down do they have to go ? Do they need to be flush ?

They don't have to be flush, just get them close.

Remember, your cutting magnesium. The chips are very flamible. No smokeing or open flames allowed. You don't need to cut all the way thru, you can score around them then snap them off with pliers.
