My 87 automatic has been acting up the past couple days and has been trouble free in the year Ive had it now It’s now getting a jumpy/surging idle poor performance and mpg..this is only after a couple miles of driving until the SES light comes on otherwise it runs fine..diagnostics is saying
The O2 sensor is only a couple months old and is AC Delco, Iv’e also thoroughly cleaned the MAF Sensor, Iv’e also checked and cleaned O2 plug and plugs to MAF and MAF burn off relays and no improvement fuel pressure is a perfect 48-49 psi both codes seem to have popped up the same time
The burn off relays are original and I’m about to order two new ones and possibly another O2 sensor but thought I’d post here first and see what you guys think?

33(1985-1990) Inspect intake system for leaks, Inspect for vacuum leaks, Check MAF connector and wiring, Check MAF for open using digital Ohm meter. Possible ECM failure.
Don't shoot the messenger. The 44 may have set as a result of the 33. As a rule diagnose lower numbered codes first. Exception is memcal error code which would be first.
Thanks for the replys I did a little research and found out a bad MASS relay can cause both a code 33 and a lean condition which would trigger the 44..I ordered two AC delco relays anyway..30 years old and for only $30 it can’t hurt.
Coincidentally I saw the oxygen sensor plug was stuck on and laying right on top of the pre-cat on sunday(I drove the car for a 60 mile trip on Saturday and it ran great) I inspected both the wire and both plugs and everything looked ok and I moved and taped it out of the way
unless something is going on inside the O2 sensor connector that I can’t see and it’s setting the code 44 if the relays don't solve the problem I might try a new connector and O2

the 44 also flashes first and goes away if I disconnect the battery the 33 does not sure what that means the 44 comes back on after driving a little not
the SES light is not on until after a couple miles then it comes on and goes into limp home mode

Just an update...I installed both MAF sensor relays checked for codes and JUST the 12 code remains...also the SES light is gone while driving and the power is back
