This morning while on the Corvette Forum and suddenly the Malware software lit up and said that there was a Trojan Horse Software trying to download into my computer while actively on the Corvette Forum.
I was reading posts from the top down on the C4 Tech/Performance page when the breach was attempted.
I am tired of people trying to damage other folks computers. I am glad the software caught it. I hope you all have the ability to catch this one before it gets into your PC.
There are two zero-day vulnerabilities that were announced today for Chrome that has exploitation code in the wild. If you are using Chrome, I say just stop. :-)
Or upgrade. Not sure if you were using Chrome or not.
Thanks for the warning. I am using Linux as an OS. Quit using Windows quite a long time ago due to so many issues like this.

Went,
This has nothing to do with UNIX/Windows. This is a Chrome browser bug that exploits a use-after-free bug. Your Linux OS is just as vulnerable as a Windows one.

No, don't ask me what I do for a living. :-D
You are correct. I didn't think out that reply as I should have. As to vulnerabilities of one OS to another, that is a matter of opinion I suppose. They all have vulnerabilities, just some more than others. I couldn't make a guess as to what you do...

My bad, I did not type that correctly.
The CHROME on your Linux OS is just as vulnerable as the one on Windows.
The vulnerabilities of one OS over another is indeed fact, not opinion. :-) I've been burnt by Windows a couple of times in my career.
Yeah, I run a lot of RHEL and MacOS at home with Windows as my media server (cord cutter, so I'm still using Media Center). :-)
Oh, yeah. One at the apex as well as individual on the systems.
But AFAIK that does not stop this vulnerability.
And, yes, upgrading Chrome is the answer. Hopefully that message is getting out.
I meant in general (running a firewall). They will stop a worm from probing for open ports, etc. I know if they get in via a web browser a firewall doesn't help.
With the sites allowing ads and such being pushed in from all over, who knows what gets injected into a browser.
