Default hypertech or jet?

I have an 86 with iron heads and the typical bolt-ons (intake, exhaust, 160 t-stat, MAT relocator, etc.). Will I get any improvement from a Hypertech or Jet chip? Should I go with their thermal chip version (i.e., requires a colder t-stat)? Or, just save my money?

A custom chip can be useful for tuning to get the nth degree of power or when your mods are extensive.

Since you have mild mods and a MAF to measure air flow you only need adjust your AFPR to set fuel flow to match at WOT.

To control your fan around that 160 deg stat., install a HyperTech fan sw of the proper range into the aux fan switch position on the block.

So yes, the correct answer to your question is "neither". :yesnod:
