I've seen some of the archived posts on this subject, but they seem to address minor rattles in the ****. This is actually about a 1997 Camaro 1LE I test drove today. It makes a mechanical rattle in both 1st and 2nd. I thought maybe it was a clutch problem or something, but the owner told me it was shifter rattle. He said he has searched the various boards as well and everybody seems to think it's normal. Is this right? Surely there is a fix. I want this car, but the rattle is something that makes you think there is some seriously wrong with the car.
The car has only 50K on it, and looks outstanding. The owner seems to have taken excellent care of it. Any ideas?
I know its an F-body question, but I figured LT-1 vettes may have the same issue, and this forum is usually right on. Thanks.
