Default yet another! And this?? (pic)

this looks kind of important, being that it comes off the positive Bat terminal cable into a rubber "joint" says 20 on it.. and the wire is broken/ corroded through..
What is it?
how would I fix this?
thanks!

Found broken corroded RED wire (i unplugged it)

close UP of said wire.

Dosent look too bad.....Cut the wire back enough to see how much is damaged. I believe that molded part is a 20 amp fuse. You can get a quality in-line fuse and holder for it if you need to. Just make sure wire size is the same.... Or get the correct part from GM (if originality is an issue) and splice it in per the FSM..... But make sure to check how far back its damaged to make sure you dont half fix it...Good luck!

Oh, and those Packard ends are available almost anywhere as a pigtail repair splice. I have the kit (Summit Racing) so when i wired my car, i made my own ends so it looks factory...

Nice,
heya, thanks for the reply!
I have made a "3/4" repair temp for trouble shooting.. only one of the 2 wires were broken, the fuse itself looked OK.
I have fixed the other wire with the 20 amp in-line fuse w/ 18ga. and plugged it back in.
still dont know what it controls or goes to?... looks substantial..

Thats a list! But im sure normal for a 30+ year old....I would fine the electrical manual for yours. If you post a 'wanted to buy' in the parts section, they seem to pop up here and there cheap...But it will save you alot of time watching youtube lol.....This forum is great, and you can find 'almost' anything here...Good luck!
