I thinking about single turbo on my 1988 automatic vette. Economy, budget version. :D
Soft boost (about 5-6 psi max) because I must leave my engine stock.
Perhaps intercooler.
Single turbo on passenger side drive by both engine sides (crossover pipe from passenger side)
So some questions:
I want leave stock injectors. It is possible to give more fuel at boost from 9 th cold start injector (program ECM to open that injector at boost condition?)
What do you thinking about that project?
What about MAF sensor?
Thanks
Jerry, Poland
If I were doing it, I'd run a speed density ecm- the '749 and use the GMC Syclone turbo code. It will add fuel under boost, adjust timing and control the waste gate. But, that is me.
wow1
I do not even think about that
Cooter, may I use my stock ECM (165) and use only mem-cal from syclone turbo?
BTW, it is V6 car. It has no matter..? It is too tuned port only for six (batch fire too)?
If MUST be another ECM, I add MAP sensor and may use stock wiring?
Sorry for my English :bb
Jerry
Any ecm that you use with a turbo would need a custom chip to maximize performance. I don't think the 165 directly supports a positive pressure intake manifold, but the 730/727 and 749 can. The 749 was used on 4 cylinder turbo cars, non-turbo cars with DIS ignition and the turbo V6- it is a matter of changing the program code to switch the v6 syclone to support a v8. The reason that I like the 749 is because it has an extra output to run the wastegate.
