I just got the old March underdrive pulley out of my 93. I had to pull it out the side on passenger side as it would not fit up straight through the water pump frame section. The screws on the water pump housing were hitting.
So, Unless I can fit a much larger OEM one in, how do you guys suggest you put it in?
1993 LT1
I have had mine on and off (stock one) a couple times and always pulled the water pump and opti. May not be required but makes it easy ad its only a few bolts. Does the March have a separate hub, or go on the stock hub? That's a little harder to pull off in situ but can be done....

The March is identical to the OEM accept smaller to effectively be underdrive..
I will put the OEM through the same area I did the March. really dont want to take the pump off, even though I have dozen over a dozen optis, it is easy now..
Hey, It has been a while. But, after traveling and heart surgery, I took a break. Even got a mandatory break from the Gubmmit.
So, I had to take water pump off. Glad I did as 2 bolts werent very tight anyways.. Put Balancer on, torqued it the best I could, as engine moved a little. Its on with loctite on the bolts. Turned engine on, belt looks spot on..
Now, I have to put water pump back on. I will in a couple days. Need to clean up engine where gasket goes on, then put it on, torque it down.
Thnx for the help. The easiest way to put that balancer on/off is by taking water pump off, on LT1/4 engines..
