Hey guys. So I haven't dug too far into this yet only because it happened a little while ago but here goes. Basically once running the car behaves as if you've left the lights on with the key in run. Buzzer on but no real problems otherwise. The interior lights stay on the timer when you close the door while running vs actually shutting off right away too.
I checked the little light box first under the dash and it seems functional so I'm leaning toward maybe an ignition switch issue? I plan on digging into the fsm tomorrow and tracing circuits to see what is going on but if anyone has any input for me between now and then that would be much appreciated as some quick things to narrow down would be great. Otherwise tomorrow will be a long day.
Remove the door switch on the drivers side. the "pin" switch on the door pillar. (not the one on the end of the door). It has three circuits/wires on it. Clean it and the switch's connection to ground. I suspect that the 3 circuits are interacting because the switch isn't making good ground contact to the pillar metal.
Yoh think that will take care of the buzzer while the headlights are on too?
I mis-read your opening post. Obviously my idea would not have worked. The GAUGES fuse is the ignition=ON input to the module. With that fuse blown, the module doesn't know the key is on. Glad you found it.
yup. I know exactly how it happened too. I was testing for key on circuits in the fuse block to put an add a circuit for my wide band on and had the leads on the meter on amps... meaning dead short. Realized it after the third circuit was also dead and I was like "wtf?". Don't electrical and tired.
