Hi. I'm shopping for wheels for my 85 vette. I found some I like but they are 5x120 and I was wondering if I can run them since our pattern is 5x120.65. Thanks in advanced.
I know some people do use the wrong bolt pattern, but I would not recommend it.
Although the bolt pattern is "close", it can cause stress on the bolts, and depending on tightening can leave the wheel slightly off center causing vibrations, etc.

The 120mm bolt pattern is for cars like BMW and possibly Mercedes. While that .65mm difference doesn't seem like a lot., it's not the correct bolt pattern. DON'T use it!!

FWIW, you will have a lot more options in the correct bolt pattern if you search for wheels with more offset and then use spacers to make up the difference. For example, the 16x9.5 wheels on your car have 38mm offset (IIRC). You will find a lot more 17x9.5 and 18x9.5 (or wider - whatever you're looking for) with offsets around 56mm, like the later C4s had. So that's 18mm more offset, and you would just use a 18mm (or 3/4") spacer to put the new wheel back in the correct location.
While that .65mm difference doesn't seem like a lot, it's not the correct bolt pattern. DON'T use it!!
If you decide to use them, you'll need to be sure you tighten the SAME LUG NUT FIRST every time. Since the lug nuts are tapered, that first lug nut will be centered on that stud. Otherwise, different lug nuts will be slightly off-center, so your wheel balance will change every time you mount your wheels!
