Default Throtle body coolent bypass

Any links or personal diagrams on how to go about it? I loked at the hoses and found that there are two of them coming from hte body. I saw the connection for the one but not the second hose. :(

You will find a lot of "how to" info in the Tech Tips section (pull down Tools menu). You can also do a search (menu on the left) in active & archived sections which will often give you a lot of info.

Here are two links from Tech Tips
https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...D=61&TopicID=2
https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...=176&TopicID=2

If, after checking these links & possibly doing a search, you are still having problems, re post your question. You should be able to get all kinds of help on the Forum. This is absolutely one of the best locations for Corvette help, info, etc. etc.

btw, you can either get the kit or you can find the necessary parts at your local parts house and DIY quickly & expensively. Good luck.

Use the tech tips on the forum.

All you need to do is disconnect the two hoses and mate them together. Two clamps and a little piece of pipe and youre done.

Yeah I know this subject has been around awhile. And everybody and his brother has done it.
But can anybody tell me if this really helps anything? Its so friggin hot under the hood anyway does bypassing the TB really accomplish anything? (We've gone thru this with the open air lid a million times and until somebody gets some good dyno or track time with and without I don't believe it.)
I know, cooler the better, but has anybody done anything with a thermometer or is there a way to measure what effect a TB bypass has.
Is there any chance of tripping any sensors if it does get too cool?

In theory, the cooler the air, the denser the charge. The denser the charge, the more power. The throttle bodies were designed with coolant flow to heat them and prevent icing of the butterfly. This is also done in private planes to prevent carb icing on landings. I have only done the "by hand" test. Before the bypass, I couldn't put my hand on the TB because of the heat. After, the TB is just warm to the touch. Of course, heat soak will cause the temp of the TB to rise once the engine has stopped and air is not being drawn through it. No SOTP increase just from this mod.

Here's a dyno for the tb bypass, this site is often linked in here: http://www.ws6.com/mod-8.htm

I'm still looking for a dyno with the cut-lid...

For all you modders concerned about the value of the mod(s), here's the true scoop ;)

TB bypass = 5 HP
K&N Filter = 5 HP
Open Lid = 5 HP (10 HP if you cut your own lid)
K&N Decals = 2 HP (4 HP if you put them on the hood)
160 stat = 8 HP
muff elims = 15 HP
change to Corsas = 20 HP + the original gain when you went to elims
Corvette Forum stickers = 2 HP each decal

SOTP gains ... shoot, I couldn't really tell any but I feel so much better about spending money on all those mods

Tuband,
If put fuzzy dice on my mirror how much HP do I lose?

Depends ~
You gain HP with color coordinated fuzzy dice but lose a little if it's not. Also, you have to factor in the age of the owner/driver (weight doesn't count). There are so many variables to consider when modding with fuzzy dice that it's usually not a worthwhile mod for most. :D

Now, if any newbies are reading this diatribe, please understand that it's all :bs
