Default Wrong size wheels and tires..

When I bought my C4 last fall, I knew nothing about corvettes. I've had all winter to research my car and read about everyone else's issues. I knew that my wheels were not right for a 92', but I didn't give it much thought. The other day I was checking out the tires and that's when i found out the front tires are different size from the back. The specs for a 92' are 275/40ZR-17.. What I have is 245/45ZR17 on the front and P275/40ZR18 on the rear. What issues will that cause??

No "issues" as far as mechanical problems. Your car will have slightly (slightly) less responsive front end due to smaller tires. Many Corvettes have stagger tires so no worries.

If you like the tires and they are in good condition leave them and drive.

The 245 and 255 tires will stretch on to the 9.5 wheels. If and when you need to replace front tires; you will want to verify 8.5 or 9.5 wheel. The 93-96 Corvette base suspension (FE1) went to narrower front tires, because of comments the 275 front tire followed irregularities in road surfaces. The 245 matches the 275 diameter. Z51 and Z07 continued to use the 275 all way around.

Looking at the OP's profile picture, the car has C5 wagon wheels on them. Those were 17x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear. The tire are the stock C5 sizes for those wheels. They will cause no issues with the car and how it drives except some push/understeer from the small front tires.

I myself run the C5 wagon wheels, but i run the 18x9.5 at all 4 corners with 275/35/18 tires. At some point, i will step up to the 18x10.5 from the C5 Z06 at all 4 corners and run some 315 tires.

Good catch on the type of wheels. I'm going to slightly disagree about one thing. While the tires are correct for a stock C5, the rears are really 1" too tall for a C4. This isn't a catastrophe, but it does affect handling negatively and it can make clearance in the fenderwells a bit tight. When it's time to replace the tires, I'd go with 275/35/18, which are the same width but have the proper diameter for a C4. The front size is fine.

The only issue might be uneven tire wear because the staggered setup cannot be rotated. (The original 275x4 setup for your car could be rotated front-rear but not left-right.)
