My driver side door is rubbing against the hood and its very annoying! Upon inspection their is a plate where a thin pin on the hood slides into(has a rectangular opening) and it appears worn and is no longer a rectangular shape. Could this be causing my problem? If so, anyone have the part number? Thanks!
I know what you mean about the pin not aligning with the hole, mine was doing the same thing. To fix mine, I adjusted the hood forward just enough to clear the door and put the correct space into the area between the hood and door. I adjusted the hood hinges to correct the problem. This is not as difficult as it sounds, if you have one more person to assist you. There are two bolts at the bottom of the hinge, that attaches it to the frame rail, two bolts on the top of the hinge that attaches it to the hood, and one bolt (round head bolt with a square that fits into the hardware), and this bolt attaches the hood hinge to the headlight assembly. If you slightly loosen these bolts, and while having the helper to help maintain the hold on the hood, move the hood VERY LITTLE, and this will adjust the space between the door and hood. Just make sure when you close the hood, you close it very slowly, while watching the clearance between the hood and nose, to make sure it is not too far forward. I had a minor accident with my '91, and have just finished aligning mine back up. It is not as difficult as it sounds, with a helper. I hope this help..good luck! :seeya
Do a search in the C4 General section, there was a post this summer where someone went thru and adjusted everything that can be (it seemed) for his hood to have a perfect fit.
