for some reason my keyless entry doesnt work anymore..?? when the keys are away from the car it does not lock... so i have to lock it myself... after i lock it i bring the keys near the car nothing... i thought it was the battery but its not... the rear hatch button still works along with the door button... but when i press the button to unlock the doors only the passengerside opens???? has this happened to anyone? how do i fix this??
At first I was gonna say you need to reprogram your key fob again. Whenever you buy a new fob , $125 the last time I checked, you have to program it to the car and the instructions for that is in your owners manual. But, since you say the rear hatch buttom and the passenger side door works with its button it still must of retained its programming.
Now I know you can turn the auto-unlock mode 'on' and 'off', so you must of unknowingly turned this mode 'off' by accident. I have done this to my car in the past by having the fob in my pocket while trying to get out of my car  If you have a owners manual then go to that section in the manual and just turn it back on. If you don't have an owners manual just let me know and I will go get mine out of my car and post the procedure. It has something to do with cycling the locks 2 times... not sure of the instructions without reading them again though.
Stand next to the driver's door and hold the door lock button (on the fob) down until the the locks cycle one time it will take several seconds so be patient. All should return to normal. Hope this helps.
In case some of the other replies don't solve your problem, check the wiring for the drivers side door. The wiring for my drivers door has been disconnected twice, and is actually not working now. My hatch and passenger locks all still work like yours, just not the drivers.
i don't think thats his auto-unlock mode being turned off is the problem, or it might just be part of the problem...
I have a similar problem. when using the passive (auto-unlock) mode, mine works fine.
but when auto-unlock is turned off, only my passenger side door lock will unlock when you push the lock/unlock button on the keyfob... I have tried everything to reset the system, disconnect car battery, key fob battery, reprogram it following instructions in owners manual, etc.
I should check the drivers door wiring (how hard is it to take apart???) like the other member said.
This is low on my priority list of quirks to be repaired at the moment.....
Here's another way to test out the problem: Borrow someone elses' key fob and try to program it to your car. If it works, you know it is your fob that is bad and not the car.
Pressing the DOOR button on the remote will *NOT* unlock the driver's door. There is nothing wrong with your wiring. That is just the way GM designed this piece of crap :(
As you may know, there are two ways to configure PKE when it is on. When you walk up to the car, it can automatically unlock 1) driver's door only or 2) both doors. The button on the fob is intended for people who chose #1 and need to be able to unlock the passenger door manually.
This is all spelled out in the owner's manual :D
As for the original poster's problem, it sounds like PKE was turned off. Hold the DOOR button for 2 sec until door looks cycle, and PKE should turn back on. Key needs to be out of the ignition.
