Hi, i,m new here so thanks to all an hi to all. No doubt there has been a million forums on the 1984 c4 crossfire engine no doubt. I,m at wits end an no mechanic has had any luck of trying to get it to idle properly. I,ve taken the car to 4 different mechanics here in australia, but there not real mechanics like the old days. I,ve replaced every sensor that I know of, has new plugs leads an complete distributor, timing is right, . The car smells very fuelly, when running. When the engine is cold it sounds like it is running on about 5 or 6 cylinders. Once it goes into open loop or reaches a certain temp , around 45 degrees Celsius, the miss goes an revs really well. Problem is it then idles on 1000 rpm to about 1200rpm.fuel pressure is 11psi. Tps set at .525volt, has new iac valves. Anyone got anymore pointers please as this is truly a mystery. To relearn the computer they say to run it at 45mph for a while. Is it possible to have the car stationary an hold the revs on about 2000rpm simulating around 50mph. The car is unregistered an i live in the middle of cop central. Or does the car need to be driven. Only thing I havn,t tried is an exorcism , which i,m seriously thinking about. Tia rgds ian

 

I'll give your thread a bump as I see no one has replied yet. My first thought was an iac valve but I see you already messed with that. Since I can't offer any real help besides a bump, I will recommend a Factory Service Manual. You can pick up a reprint from Zip Corvette for $40. That's what I did and it made my life a lot easier. Also, it's nice that they're reprints because you can actually read them unlike some of the originals that people try to sell online for a ton of money that are beat up.

When did problem start? TPs is at .525 ? Fuel pressure at 11 psi ??
