BE VERY CAREFUL OF THE SOLDERS A THE PIPE JOINTS. inspect them carefully. Mine broke and I had to do it twice. First time 5 hours. Second time 1 hour 45 minutes.

I remembered you posting about this and checked the core out very carefully when I picked it up. I knew that I wouldn't want to do this twice!!!

Thanks!

At last, someone agrees with me on part #00000001. I've always said that the first part that goes down the assembly line is the heater core. Some of my buddies have laughed at me for saying that, but when they have to do one, they all sing a different song. I'm waiting for the day that I tour an auto plant and I see the start of the assembly line. I know all it will be is heater cores. I know they build the rest of the car around it.

WOW!!!!

Two hours and I've got everything back together except for the dash pad on top!

I do have a SYS light blinking now  , I'm sure I got everything plugged back together properly, but I'll need to track down what is causing it.

I could finish it today, but as I mentioned yesterday, I really didn't have much time to spend on the car until tomorrow, but snuck a couple hours in today.

Oh gee, I thought they would have fired (or hang, drawn and quartered) the guy who designed the C3 heater core.... Guess not! Thanks for posting the photos. I'm saving those to the personal archives. :yesnod:

Here's the sordid tale for heater core replacement on a 1970 factory A/C car: http://www.corvetteforum.net/c3/juli...tCore_orig.htm :smash: That was one job I gladly *paid* Tony's Corvette to do!

I wonder how much harder it is for '94-'96 considering the passenger air bag is on them

I let the dealer do ours. It's already been done. I don't have the time for the car to be down or the patience to tackle something like that.

All done! I found out what the SYS light was from.... bad battery. I went out this morning and it's leaking crap around the post really bad. It was dead too.

I only had two leftover screws too! :D

Jeff, I took a few more pics full res, I'll post them later on tonight. I've gotta go out with the wife and kids....

Yup. Not any easier.:(

If the core isn't leaking, it's not your problem. If you just don't have heat it may be the bypass valve on the heater hoses in the engine compartment is stuck or clogged up.

BTW its getting cold so i need to fix asap lol
