Default LT1 Bare Block

Is there a new LT1 bare block offered? I've looked, and can only find Gen I and Gen III blocks for sale.

I don't believe they make them anymore...if large GM parts warehouse has stock piled them...no.

Jeff Kopp wasn't able to get any-for example.

Used ones are better anyway...no longer green. :)

Good luck, let me know if you do find any...even used ones are a bit tough to come by. As someone mentioned I have seen short blocks...

You guys are right. No bare blocks. Looks like I'll be ordering the 396 shortblock after all. I've seen a couple. Speed Demon Motorsports has one, and so does More Performance. Hmmm....maybe I should poll this one.

Used ones are out there.

I've seen quite a few available on the Camaro boards-www.camaross.com, etc. Those folks seem to go thru engines a bit more than any of the Corvette folks...

I located one for a reasonable price-four bolt main no less.
