Default Upgrade fuel injectors

Hi,

I own C4 1986 and I want to change fuel injectors. I want to do maintenance. My question is, which injectors are the best? What to do, if I want more power? Thank you for your help

Are you currently having issues?

You will read BOSCH3's are a cheap replacement and folks that say they run fine with no tuning... not the case. They need some injector voltage offsets changed. Admittedly is seems the aluminum L98 engines are less affected than the Iron Head cars. Oh and they are noisy injectors too.

If you want to best drop in replacements, Delphi's are the ticket. If I had to do it again, I would pay the extra money for the Delphis.

I dont have problems with them. Engine sounds good. They are original and 63000 miles away...

If you want more power you have to make changes to the engine so it pumps more air. Higher flow injectors are only necessary AFTER your engine is flowing more air. Just adding fuel does not increase power. Keep your stock injectors, they are fine.

Ok. More air... what this upgrade include? I have experiences just with EU cars like Audi A3 1.8T... I made on it 270hp. There is it easy. Turbo, injectors, air and etc. I knew what to buy, but in this car Im really out of my exp. I know basic things, but Im worried. Every advice is priceless

With all due respect to Kyle, I have also heard of a lot of people who did NOT have trouble with the Bosch injectors. That said, if you want to go Delphi, it is an option. I would talk to FIC and see if they have reman Delphi.

As to more power, the question was, is and will always be, "How much money do you have?". Sorry, it isn't the most politically correct way but IMO, it is the most honest. If you have $500, there isn't much. If you have $100K, well...... What do you honestly want to do with this car? Once you commit to the path, you will make it harder to sell and a money pit. If that is fine, we can go with a stroker motor, better rear end and better trans. Then we get into tuning.

Same song every time. I have said my word of caution, they are not direct replacements. Do you research and on other boards as well. There is a larger set of other L98 cars that have a lot more people scanning and reading data as well as doing more tuning. They are known to need tuning. Difference as I said, Iron vs. Aluminum head cars. I did not say they don't work, I currently have them in my L98. It starts, it runs, we drive it, its still fun... It needs tuned, split BLMs. Not just my word either, experienced TPI tuners have looked at my logs and suggested as much, even for idle. EBL is going in soon.
