Default Headlight Adivse

Hey Guys, I'm looking for advise on the function of my headlights. This 1992 is my 1st Corvette so this might seem like a dumb or a "repeatable" topic. I'm a rookie Corvette owner but I know enough to know "headlight systems" can cause problems. My headlights burn and they open and close. However when they open, one side or the other side will shake and the motor will continue to run almost like it's bouncing off of the "stopped or parked" position for about 5 or 6 seconds. When they get closed the same thing happens but without the shake.
I'm dealing with possibly another problem also. The car possibly might have an intermittent battery draw which I KNOW is a night mare. When ever the car battery is dead...As soon as I hook up the battery charger without touching anything else one of the head light motors will kick off and run for 5 or 6 sec without moving the headlights.
I'm thinking of replacing both headlight motors and hoping that's my problem maybe even both of my problems. Being a rookie is hard enough, I don't want to be a "parts hanger" as well. So I thought I'd ask the guys that knows more and have been down this road before. THANKS in advance for any help on the matter.

Default Headlight noise

Search for replacing headlight bushings on this site and on YouTube. I replaced both sides when I did my 93 Vert. Both can be done in a few hours. Kevin

When the bushing go bad does it make the motor keep running for 5 or 6 seconds ??? When I say "shake" I'm meaning it bounces the headlight assembly against the OPEN position rapidly for 5 or 6 seconds. Closing it can will do the same thing like the motor keeps running for several seconds.
If the motors are Bad..do they either Work or the Don't ?? If so maybe I have some kind of bushing or other problem ?? Confusing why when I hook up a battery charger the motors kick off with touching anything as well ??

Default Headlight clunking

My 93 would run on for 4-5 seconds after shut off or turn on. It would go clunk, clunk, clunk and vibrate also. You may have another issue with it running when you attach a battery charger. I bought 2 bushing and 2 gears and replaced them all. Now everything works good, no noises.

Yes, that is absolutely the symptom. If the pellets are shot, the motor doesn't truly "dead head" at the end of headlight travel, and the controller doesn't stop running the motor. Your headlight pellets have turned to dust, and are likely the only thing that need replaced. The motors and gears are probably fine. You'll find more confirmation of that if you do some searching on the forum. Check out this video.

I can't really comment on the battery charger part of it. I'd fix the headlights and see if that goes away. I'm betting it will.
