it's 68440, $105 from summit racing brand new, i'm sure they could be shipped to sweden for under $95, just buy them new bro, they aren't that bad if your budget capped. i'm still using mine & they are 2yrs old. one thing to do however is BUY THE PERCEYS MANIFOLD GASKETS and the summit collector gaskets out of aluminum.

I wrestled with that price differential before I bought headers also. Untill I looked and compared what the REAL cost differential was. Being in steel all my adult life I have an appreciation for the materials used and quality of workmanship. There is no comparison between the $200 Headman's and the $500+ Hooker Supercomps. First off the flange thickness is significantly thinner on the cheaper $200 Headman's. Just eyeballing them I would estimate the Headman's to be 3/16" thick vs. 1/4" on the Hookers. The tubes on the Headman's I saw appeared to be tack welded to the flanges. I couldn't measure the thickmess of the tubing, but I recalled reading the specs somewhere that the Hooker's had a thicker wall. Picking them up side by side would bear that out. When you looked at finding the Headman's with the smog tubes and full in/out ceramic coating, the price differential was negligible. The quality was certainly appreciable. Leaky headers are a major PITA. A strong, good fitting flange is one of the keys to a tight, no maintenence exhaust system. I think the Headman's are false economy. BTW, if you can find Cometec gaskets (for anything!) get them. One other tip, spend the extra couple of bucks and get the 1" ARP stainless header bolts. They have a very small external hex head flange on them that allows you to use a 1/4" drive socket set without having to ding your new ceramic coated headers for clearance, or to resort to a zillion turns with an open end two flats at a time.

I had the hedmans on my car and after the poopie I went through with em leaking, I went out and got TPIS headers (still need to install them).

From my expierence, I would say pay more now and you will do better in the long run. try and get the hookers.

All i did was elongate the holes to produce a slot. I did it to the gaskets first until they covered the port correctly ie level at the top. I then placed the gasket on the header and sloted the holes in the flange to match.
Then i removed the tubes that the original bolts go through on the stk manifolds and welded them onto the ends of the headers in the lower postion to ensure when i bolted the headers up they lined up with the head.I then taped the gaskets to the header before installing them on the car to ensure everything lined up.

I have been out in the car tonight for the first time and i am really pleased as there seems to be a big SOTP IMPROVEMENT
( but i have fitted a converter as well ! )

I got a quote from summit for $109 plus $125 to ship them so that is the sort of money you are looking at to get them into europe if you do it you self.

If i had the money i would of gone with the coated hookers but i havent so the headman's were my only option. They are not made to hooker standards but i am very happy with them. only time will tell how well the stand up to task.

that's not a 68440, those are the same header just with the AIR tubes, they cost $250 compared to the 68440's $100, forgot the part number on the pic you posted but it's basically the emissions legal version

yes, just make sure you use a soft aluminum or copper manifold gasket & aluminum collector gaskets. you'll have to re torque them after a week of driving but after that they should be okay. i have the same header minus air tubes on my 113 casting & the fit is pretty decent. make sure you hold the manifold gaskets up to the holes on the header before you install, some minor port matching may be required.

I'm using mine on '98 vortec heads, and i haven't had one single problem, the only thing that i would have done differently is that i would have ceramic coated them. I own a small powder coating business( a hobby) so i might do this during the winter

i don't know why everyone is so down on these headers

they are a good budget upgrade, the key word here being budget

you don't need 13/4 hooker headers for most applications 1 5/8 are probably just as good

i put them on my 87 a few months ago, they dropped right in with no trouble, plug changes are no sweat, the only problem i ran into was the collecter on the pass side was pressed against the floorboard, there was no way possible to get bolts on it, it was angled right into the floor, i just cut the flange off and rewelded it about 1/2" back and that gave me plenty or room,,,,,i was a bit disapointed with that but otherwise for 100 bux you cant go wrong,,,
