Default Rear spring centre mounts

Hi All,
New member here looking for some help..
I have a 1984 C4 and the rear spring centre mounts have perished. These are the plastic/rubber pieces that come glued to the spring so it can be clamped in the brackets on the differential support. The spring itself is fine and it seems a shame to throw it out for the sake of some mounts. Has anyone ever managed to get these parts or an alternative from anywhere? I’ve searched everywhere but no luck.

many thanks in advance..
Roy

Nobody makes those pads for replacement. The only option is to get another spring, cut the pads off and glue them to yours. At that point, you might as well just install the other spring and not bother with cutting and gluing. The other option is to find some chunks of hard rubber you could use to replace the pads. Not sure where you would be able to find that though.

I kind of went through the same thing on my front spring. I wanted to change to a Z51 spring, but they are hard to find. I finally found one, but someone cut the pads off of the ends of the spring (to lower the car). I had to cut the rubber pads off another soft spring and glue them onto the Z51 spring before I installed it.

welcome to the forum. if you keep your car long enough, or get a newer year/model and do most of the repairs/mods yourself, the members here will help you in any way to finish your project.
our go to business for springs and suspensions parts recently went out of business. i myself bought a set of those spring insulators to replace the poly insulators i had on the spring, they were cracked and crumbling...old poly. i don't know who would carry them now. if you had a milling machine you could fabricate a set of your own. as previously stated, it would probably be best to get another spring and use that, but an 84 spring might be hard to find as they were the stiffest spring available from the factory. or go to a softer spring if your ride is too harsh.

At one point, yeah someone was making those parts. But those springs have been out of production for 24 years, and there's nobody we know of currently making them. I would not toss out that OE spring though, for the reason Sleazy Rider stated. Any C4 rear spring will fit any C4. So you could chisel off the pads from any other C4 rear spring and use that. Another option is to have someone machine them out of Delrin (easier to machine then poly). Whichever way you go on that, the recommended adhesive is 3M Window Weld. That's what Vette Brake Products (RIP!) told me they used on their aftermarket springs.

Are the rubber pads similar to hockey pucks?
