Sounds to be engine braking
Hi I have a 1989 corvette coupe 6speed manual with 5.7 tpi and for some reason while coasting in any gear about two or three seconds after letting of the gas I will get a small jerk from loss of power and the engine sound as if it is engine braking is the best way I can explain but as soon as o give the gas the slightest touch it’s back to normal it will also stall at a light or idle sometimes also both symtoms are intermittent but are becoming more frequent Hoping someone could help me with this thank you it also has new cap,rotor,plugs and wires

The engine braking sensation is DFCO. Decel Fuel Cut Off. Its normal under light load conditions while coasting down to save fuel. The stalling however, is not normal. Check tps/IAC and min air adjustment which is discussed all the time on this board.
