Has anyone swapped the whole rear end from a 96 into an earlier car? Say an 86?
Complete as to include the L & R suspension/brake components won't work unless you're prepared for much modifications. A D36 differential & cover isn't an issue!!!
This would be applicable '87 and earlier D36, A '96 complete w/suspensions isn't an issue for '88+
Thanks
looks like i’m going to have a lot of leftover parts
Half-shafts will work so you've maybe a choice of better u-joints and if it's a low-mile assembly you could salvage the rear hubs for future use. If the '96 calipers are fully functioning with e-brake etc I'd think they would be an easy resale. Maybe just offer up each suspension unit complete!
Not sure about dog bones.
they are adjustable. Mine aren’t.
came complete with brake cables and c beam, toe adjuster.
sold the rear spring and shocks.
if the rear is 2” wider, where is the extra inch on each side?
