Looking for advice on larger wheel size for front of 1996. Has anyone had experience with running 315 35 17s Or 315 30 18s (56 offset) on the front of their C4? I’d like to be able to run the same size on all corners, mostly HPDE use car.Thank you!
I had multiple sets of 11"-wide wheels with 315s for all four corners: two sets of 17s and one set of 18s. They fit fine. I had over -3 camber up front, so they tucked in the fender edges. If you have less, they might poke a teensy amount a ride height, but will tuck in as the suspension compresses. You should run that much front camber for track work, though. Trust me. For any 88-96 C4, you'll want an offset of 50mm for an 11" wheel, front or rear. Luckily, this is fairly common because the 96 Grand Sport C4s came with that offset for their 11" rears. If you use 56mm offset, you may get some interference on the inside of the tire on the rear, and maybe even on the front at full lock. Below are some pics of my 96 with 18x11 (offset 50mm) Forgestar wheels and 315/30/18 BFG Rival S tires.

Thank you Matthew, the pictures tell the story. And I believe I had the way offsets work reversed in my head. I was thinking the larger the offset the farther out it pushes the wheel from the inner fender well. Again thank you for sharing the advice as well as the pictures. Alan

Yep, positive offset (like we're discussing) moves the wheel IN toward the center of the car. They actually use the term "negative offset" for wheels whose center lies outside the hub face. Negative offset is extremely rare these days - I don't know of a single production that has it. You're welcome. Please come back and let us know what you decide to do, and bring pics!
