Default Help with part ID

Can anyone tell me what the part is in the photo with the two sockets/plugs. I found one plug not plugged in and when I plugged it in the fan came on for the interior. But, it would not go off. Tried starting car up and different settings on the air system but no effect on the fan, still ran. The only way I could stop it was to unplug the one as it is now. To this point I have not had any fans working inside. There is a problem somewhere along the line. Just wondering if underneath the plugs there is a problem. Other than that I haven't had the time to check any further. Thanks

Yes that's the 'Blower Control Module' and when it fails it's not unusual for the 'blower' to run non-stop (matters not generally) whether car is running or not. That's why it's disconnected!!

What year car? The car is a recent purchase for you?

Yes, C4 L98, 1990, recent purchase. Wonder if the part is still available. Haven't checked yet but hopefully that's all that's wrong.
Thanks!

There seems to be missing attaching hardware (screws) - did you remove them or is that the way the car was delivered to you?

Yes, I noticed that. I'm thinking the original may have been different from a possible replacement.
thanks

Now that I look at it again, not sure. The one that's in there possibly the screw holes didn't line up? Regardless, will replace it and see how it goes.

There's another piece in the picture that seems to go to nowhere. The metal flange with the hole in it. Any ideas about that?
Thanks

It holds the wiring loom firmly to the heater control module. It's meant to be under the bottom-most screw with a washer on it in your photograph.

Thanks, looks like there was some sloppy things going on around that area. Have my work cut out for me but enjoy it.
