Just picked a test kit but after screwing hose onto the Schrader of my '89 the reading was zero with key on for >2min.
Then tried it on my '88 (which starts & runs), same deal zero pressure even with engine running.
Examined the end of the test hose to find there was no pin to depress the Schrader???
All vids I've seen the hose is simply screwed onto the Schrader w/o need to remove the valve core.

Am I right here??
remove the cap, then screw on the hose to the gauge.....you should be able to depress the pin on the top of the schrader valve to see if anything squirts out....if so, she's got some kind of pressure
maybe not screwed on far enough to push that little button in... don't get your face too close to that fuel rail.... and don't inject gasoline into your hand.

Gas injection isn't possible at less than 50 psi.
I would take a pic of the end you are screwing onto the schraeder valve. Not sure why there is nothing there.
I'm really guessing, I got a gauge with a short little hose and connector at advanced auto.....didn't think it was very much....not 45 bucks anyway
I'm not sure which one you got. You can get the cheaper one without the braiding but It is about 30 some. I probably wouldn't trust anything as cheap as a $10 fuel pressure gauge. Couldn't afford it
