Default 3 row radiator update

The new 3 row radiator is in. I had to trim the rubber saddles it sits in on both top and bottom so it would sit down in them like it should. Also had to open the filler neck opening just a bit so the neck would go through. That was all it needed to drop right in and button it up. The results,,, sitting in the garage idling ac on full blast and one fan on,,,182!! Temp outside was 80
Haven't had it out yet so I don't know what it will run on the highway, hopefully not too cool.

Hood up or down? Mind creeps to 200 hood down but hood up holds the thermostat temp

Yes but not one of the real cheap ones, it's a Champion. Total was just over $200

It may not make a difference on mine. Toledo Pro hood, they have great ventilation at the rear. If it ever quits raining I'll get it out and see how it is in traffic.

Gotcha. I ran in upper 80s and a high relative humidity last week and even a few semi Mexico pulls just dropped the coolant temp hard. The highest I saw was 208 or so and moving around it ran around 185. The improved hood airflow helps though.. those side vents are entirely too small imo.

IMO the side vents are good for looks but not much else. I was very pleased with the TP hood the first time I felt all the heat coming out while the engine was running and fan on. I actually drew my hand back because I had never felt it before and was used to the stock hood with no vent.

Excellent. Now I forget, you have a decent amount of work done to the engine no? Or are you close to stock?

Not even close to stock, 383, crate engine from ATK, dynoed before I got it @ 435 with a 750 carb. No idea where hp is now but ATK estimated over 450. Edelbrock Pro Flo intake with Fitech 102mm throttle body.

Okay. (Hard to keep track of everyone lol) So we're probably turning out similar amounts of heat. I should be low 400s but I'll know once its dynoed. The stock rad couldn't handle much other than a leisurely cruise...

Its good to see there are other options for people looking for upgrades

Yeah, I don't get on the forum much any more, not like I used to anyway. My combination might be a little better known if I did.

All good magoodI don't even remember what I did to mine yesterday. I probably read it a while back but I'm just so burned lately I can't remember.
