Default LT4 and LT1

I have a 96 LT4 6 speed I am trying to bring back to life. Of course it fighting me every step of the way.

LT4 block has to be rebuilt due to dropped valve and then sitting years. While this was happening I had my new flywheel balanced matched to my old flywheel. Which goes with my LT4 crank. Block came back and during assembly it cracked on the deck. There was a problem from the machine shop that weakened it. 92-94 corvette blocks are hard to find. Nothing comes available for several weeks. The shop I am working with has an LT1 F body short block they we will work a deal on for me. Switch my cam out install of my LT4 stuff on top and I am rolling, not so fast I wonder... My question is will that flywheel balance properly on the LT1 crank that is in the short block?

I do have my LT4 crank and it is good condition, I can swap it to the LT1 block if need be but it would be nice to move ahead with the assembled short block if that is an option.

Let me know what you know.

Thank you
Doug

not sure why they couldnt balance it the same, 2 bolt blocks are just fine and can handle plenty of power. Studs could help a bit, some do some dont. Unless youre twisting it to the moon I wouldnt bother.

I am building a weekend cruiser with a decent cam. I was thinking like you it should be fine. Just wanted to make sure it should all go together.

Thank you

The LT4 parts will swap in LT1 block without issue there is only1 LT1 casting number even though only the Corvette should have 4 bolt mains. Which is more or less a machining process. The LT4 crank.can be used it also is the same casting as the LT1, but again with additional maching. The the 3 different flywheels A4, S, and DM are designed mount on LT1 crankshaft without issue.
