Default 84 line lock question

Hey everyone. It's been years since I've been on here. Anyway I tried a search and didn't turn up much about my question so I figured I would ask.

I have an LS6 swapped 84 that's job in life is a street car/tire fryer. My local car club has burn out contests from time to time and I see a lot of guys are using line locks. So I figured I would get one. That and the few times a year I take the car to the airport flashlight drags it would help there too. Anyway the problem is with the 84 master cylinder. As far as I understand it a line lock works by closing a solenoid on the front brake line after your foot is on the pedal. Basically locking pressure in the line to hold the front brakes on. The 84 master cylinder has two ports for the front brakes. One for each front wheel. So would I need two line lock kits?

I had an idea of trying to put the solenoid on the single rear line. I could hit the button when my foot was off the pedal and when I hold the brake it would only pressurize the front brakes. Seems awkward and I'm not sure if that would work. Anyone have a line lock on an early C4 with some incite for me?

I have a line lock on my 88. But I removed the ABS and ran my own lines. I also have a SSBC proportion valve as well. The valve has a bias adjuster for rear and also a brake pressure switch. So outta the master cylinder it goes to line lock which goes to prop valve. And electrically I installed a relay that works off the brake switch in valve. So you can only activate lock when you have foot on brakes already. Otherwise if you hit your switch then hit your brakes your not gonna have any in the front....in general discussion I have a thread called "just for the hell of it". In there I know is a pic of the setup. Good luck!

On the 88 you have one line coming out of the master cylinder for the front and one line for the back. On an 84 I have two for the front and one for the back. I have an 87 master cylinder laying around I might just put that in to make it easier. I wonder it I can run both lines together through the solenoid?

Here's an 84. The bottom of the line lock shows an adapter for the two out lines from the master cylinder. The upper ports of the line lock go back to the stock front lines.

I never even considered the idea that a line lock solenoid could have more than one port for an outlet. Thank you so much for the picture. What brand line lock is that?

It's a Hurst that I have been using for the past 30+ years. Thousands of runs and not a hiccup.
