Hey all, I have a 1993 LT1 Corvette that stalls when hot (at idle) and has troubles starting back up again. I've replaced the Fuel pump , Filter and Pressure Regulator, also replaced the EGR Valve. The problem was still occurring, now i have replaced the ICM and Coil, after that replacement during hot idle i revved the engine in park and it sorta died off and the engine light flashed so i turned off the car and checked the codes. I got code 22 41 and 36, could i have installed the ICM or coil wrong (yes i used thermal paste) or could these codes be pointing to my problems and just weren't showing previously? 22 seems to be TPS, and the other 2 codes seems like they could be the same issue. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you forums.
41 is open circuit between ignition module and ECM
36 is reference signal Opti to ECM
22 is low TPS value.
Misadjusted throttle plate could be the cause and might cause decel stalling. Scanner would be helpful to check TPS and IAC settings. Poor connections would be simple solution for 41 & 36.
The 41 and 36 will park you. Diagnosis works best when condition is current; normally when car is hard to or won't start. Poor connections, terminals spread, poor ECM grounds. If guessing the Opti is far more available than ECM. Old ECM would likely need sent out for repair. 92-93 ECMs are hard to come by and normally require one to get reman if you can find one.
