Hey guys, I currently own a 1990 corvette and I’m looking to change out the current exhaust system for something louder and to give more performance. Just wondering what would be the best route I could take. Not trying to spend toooo much but willing to put down some money for a better sound. Thanks!
Best bang-for-the-buck is going to be an LT1 take-off system; it's true dual, proven to be unrestrictive at the ~300hp level and they're cheap. I just sold one last week for $100.
If you want it louder, delete the "resonator" in the middle.

Honestly don’t know much about exhausts.. I hope I’m not asking for too much but could you possibly send me a link to a kind that would fit.. new to all this :/
True duals if you can get away with it. I have a chambered set with h pipe in my 89. Much better than the y pipe setup.
would you possibly have a picture or a link to a site where I could see what I need? Hope I’m not asking for too much.. new to this :/ just leaning about exhausts and it’s rocket science to me..
I am another person with a Chambered Exhaust systems on the Corvettes I own. The Chambered exhaust really brought my L98 a much deeper ferocious sound. I replaced the catalytic converter with a High Flow unit from Summit racing and that made a BIG difference. There are a lot of folks with aftermarket exhaust who complain or comment on the Drone that is there with aftermarket exhaust systems. I bought the C4 system from Allen's Stainless Exhaust in Indiana and installed it myself. I am not sure what I did but my C4 does not have any issue with droning and it gained almost 14 hp when I made the exhaust system swap.
The nice things about a Chambered Exhaust system is that there are no ugly mufflers in the system. The pipes have internal baffles that can control how loud it will be. Allen's offered three levels when I bought mine. I think my C4 is the Loudest they make. My neighbors love it when I go out for a early morning drive on the weekends in the C3 convertible with it's Chambered exhaust system.
The system they sold me for my L98 came with LT1 tips but who really cares. The sound is nice but very tolerable even on the highway cruising along at 70 mph with the targa top removed. It is NOTHING like side pipes and their noise, it is not distracting or anything. The sound of the chambered C4 sounds like it is coming from a "Corvette" even though a modified Asian car might be faster. The sound of a healthy V8 sure beats anything smaller.

It is a chambered exhaust setup for a 96 LT4. Not sure if the vendor is supporting, probably. Was about 5 hundred for the setup. I had to have the h pipe modified to fit. It is loud. Maybe too loud. Some good bullet converters would make it more livable. Would be easy to put mufflers on as well.

It's not a bolt it; you'd have to have an exhaust shop weld it to your original "down pipes"....OR buy the cats from an LT1 also, then install the whole thing...which IS a bolt in...but you need a filter adaptor and a different oil filter to make it fit around the larger, better flowing cat on the driver's side.
If you're not handy, this probably isn't the best option for you.
