Default Fan stalled car

Hi Everybody,

I am getting my 85 4 plus 3 ready for the road. Up to this point I have connected the cooling fans so that the fans come on as soon as I start the car. Last night we decided to see if the fans would come on at the proper temperature, 210 F. We let the idle and heat up. When it got to 205 degrees the car stalled. My mechanic thought it was ran out of gas. Keep in mind the car is connected to my laptop. The laptop flickered when the car stalled. I put gas in. Car ran and stalled at 206 F. I then by passed te fan relay and the car fine. So I am changing the fan relay today. But, is this an indication of something bigger being wrong with the car.
Oh and on TunerPro. No codes, and very good numbers IAC 15, MAF 10
Thank you

the fan comes on at 228. Why are you messing with it? Stalling could be you're messing with it

In all honesty this was actually the very last thing I expected to hear. I am not "messing" with it. All of the components the Switch, CTS and relays are stock. In fact in my 1989 Corvette. I know the fan comes on at 210. When I had my 1984 I installed a low temperature switch so the fan would not come on at 228. But, the 85 and 89, fans come on at 210, with stock replacement components. If I connect the fan direct i.e. without the relay the motor revs slightly. So I am wondering if this is normal. My 89 is in NJ, 14000 miles from me, so I can't go out and check one against the other. Interesting to me is that when the temperature gauge read 210 the TunerPro application reads 170 F. But, the fans did try to come on when the car temperature gauge read 204 F.

Thank you

Is the fan relay sharing the ground with another component like ignition or fuel and causing a feedback killing the motor? Just a thought.

Normal on fan factory is 228, not 210 unless someone has altered it

Your response makes sense. Because whenever I connect the fan the motor make a change in pitch. Like motor is getting a load. I guess we will have trace some wires. Thank you
