Again, much obliged! I ordered 4 so in case there is an issue after I change the two upstream, I'll have 2 ready to go. It won't hurt to have spares, either.
This thread couldn't have been more timely. My SES clicked on all of two days ago, throwing code P1133 for bank 1 / sensor 1, and I hopped on this morning looking for part recommendations. I didn't even make it to the search bar before I spotted the thread. Thanks to you guys, I've got 4 NTKs on their way as we speak (I don't have any documentation as to when or if any of the sensors were ever replaced, so I'm just doing 'em all).
This is a very timely thread! I ran my engine for a bit and checked the plugs and this is what I found. Left side is extremely rich. Right side seems normal. Dont have the codes but the Check engine light is on. I thought about changing the O2 sensors because the car has been sitting for years.
See pic, i didn't have number 8 out yet as it was late when I pulled them but when I did get it out it looked like the others on that side. Bad upstream O2 sensor? Looks like its the same sensor for up or down stream. At least the part numbers at Rock Auto and other places show the same.
Thank you.

You should pull your code(s) to see what the PCM thinks is wrong first. A failing upstream O2 sensor is one thing that could lead to this situation, but probably not the only thing (but the fact that one bank is different than the other rules a lot of others out). That said, I think it's reasonable on a 25-year-old car to replace at least the two upstream sensors as a matter of maintenance (assuming they are original). They do seem to wear out with time and/or miles (really not sure which). Yes, the upstream and downstream sensors are the same part.
