Default Coolant temperature sensor relocate

I see a plug on the drivers side reason I’m asking the headers are to close to the original location and burnt the wire. I tried to rewire but no go on this side so I was told just move to the drivers side. If I can get the plug out will this effect the temperature in any way or is this a bad idea HELP PLEASE

Do you mean move it to the passenger side? You'll need a 3/8" square drive socket and a lot of luck to get the plug out. I'd rewire it without moving it. Use some silicone sheathed wire or even regular wire in silicone tubing.

on my 92 it’s on the passenger side I’m wanting to move to drivers side bc the guy I bought it from changed the headers bc they are not factory. The heat melted the wire.

I made my own 3/8" square drive tool out of an old 7/16" screw in rocker stud that came from a bbc. Ground one end into a square taper, hammer in and removed with an impact gun.
Oh I should mention that my temp sensor wire has a sleeve around it made of the same material they use for header wraps.

What headers do you have if the tubes are close enough to melt the sensor? I've got 2 inches on one side and 3 on the other side?
