Default Mini Ram

Well, I finally found one that was reasonably priced. Seems like every time I get the Tune almost perfect I go and find something to start all over again.
I’m thinking while I have the intake off that I will put in the new ZZ4 cam that I purchased last year.
I currently have the 1.6 RR rockers so now the question is if I should take the heads off and have them machined to accept more lift or put the 1.5 RR back in and leave the heads for further replacements as a whole later on.
Either way I’m excited to remove the intake bottle neck and see what improvement will be with the mini ram.

Time for more cam, porting and some deeper gears to take advantage of that mini!

Look at it this way. With no TPI when you hit passing gear on the freeway it wont feel like you let off the gas anymore.

I did the gears a few years ago, 3.54.
pretty sure someone has been inside the engine before as I have LT4 green strip valve springs.
problem is I don’t know what was done to the internals .

Stay with the 1.5s. I did a miniram, ZZ4 on my 87 and it was great. 3.08 gears were fine. Actually still had traction problems.

Since you already have non-stock springs, did you check to see if the valve guides have already been machined?

You'll enjoy the Miniram for sure! I have a ZF6 with the 3.54, Hedman headers and dual exhaust. I fitted 1.6RR and it revs nicely to 5600rpm, much more fun to drive on European roads now! MPG was pretty much the same too

I hear tuning in the idle on a mini ram is a bit of a bear. I would look around for something close to your combo as a base to start from. Otherwise, I think it is a wise investment.
