Default Motor install with headers attached?

When I took the motor out I had pulled the long tubes off. Wondering if anyone has successfully (i.e easily) installed the motor with headers attached? Hoping to drop it in this weekend.

Should be possible. I do it with LT5’s.

It does get tight. Best have two people to make it easier.

I've put my LT4 and LT5 in with long tubes on. You really need to tip the motor back to get the headers past the firewall. Then I try to set the engine in and repick it more level to align the motor mounts. It's tight but very possible. I have a ATI balancer on my LT4 and it's even tighter with the A/C lines.

Having a good leveler will help immensely.

I put my LT4 back in my 96 complete but it had manifolds. I ran into the balancer hitting the AC canister that sits right behind the radiator. If you unbolt it from the front cross base you should be able to move it out of the way some. Might give you a few more inches. I would agree a leveler rented from somewhere local or buy one at Harbor Freight will save you hours and hours of pushing and pulling and possibly cracking old pieces of plastic. I wish I had a leveler when I did mine. I just had a chain and a hoist and super excited 12 year old to help.

Took a bit of finessing, but it went in! About an hour with two of us working on it. IMO well with the work saved installing plugs and the manifolds inside the bay.

Nice going Chris! No hurry in getting the Hooker back. When you get some time. It looks like you still have a bit to do before you fire her.
