Just recently noticed that both doors will not lock from the inside power switches on my 89 corvette. However they both unlock perfectly fine. Is there a common connection somewhere between the 2 that could cause this? Maybe both switches have gone bad?
I rarely use my door locks due to always parking it in a garage or locations where I don’t lock my doors due to not needing to and because there’s nothing in there to take but the car itself. I know that probably sounds bad but I’ve yet to have any problems lol
The manual locks work fine with no stickiness to them. I haven’t tried actuating the locks with my own power source but figured they were fine since they unlock normally.
They are wired to each other. They do not operate independently. I had the same problem in my '90. It turned out to be a bad ground on the passenger side. You need the wiring diagram to troubleshoot. This might help even though it's for an '87.
Check the grease on the linkage for the locks. My 92 worked fine with the key but not the power took the door panels and found the original grease all hard and dried out cleaned old grease off and relubed and now work like new.
