I was on my way for a long weekend and turned my A/C on to about 70deg, after a couple of minutes I went to turn the A/C up and none of my controls worked at all...I mean none, you could not turn defrost or auto, or change the temp. I shut the car off and started it up and the defrost came on but still no control over the unit at all, my outside temp/inside temp display was showing .--, or something like that. Does anyone no what this could be? I had my hood up for about ten minutes in a gentle rain while I checked fluids before I left for my trip (which I turned back after this). The thing worked fine at first. Thanks.
i kinda had somethin like this happem where i turned on the ac and a couple of minutes later i tried turning it off and nothing would happen. all i could do is change the temp and change between fan speeds. i kept pushing the off button but no response. i told my dad wht was happening and he just gave the dash a swift hit and problem solved i pushed off and the damn thing turned off hahah.
now i know this isnt a complete fix because somthin has to be wrong. ive been looking over past posts and i read somethin about a few relays having somethin to do with that. not positive on that though.
I could not control anything on the unit. I called up Hypertec since I was going to be turning the car into the dealer if I could not find out what was wrong. I returned the car to stock programing and the problem went away, I can control my HVAC now. I called Hypertec and they said it has nothing to do with their programer, but when I returned the car to the stock program it wiped out trouble codes he said. When I run the car now the light above the button that I happen to be on flashes for a minute or so, any ideas? Thanks.
Search the archives. There was a thread not too long ago about the same (or similar) problem. I think the cure was to remove the AC control unit and clean the contacts of any coroded material
