from internet searches this seems to be a step child, not many performance parts or tips showed up, also what tuning device can you use, i usually use HP tuners but they don't cover this year? any cheap budget mods? i don't expect a world beater, but want more power than stock ( have a 2016 Z06 and a 2020 GT500 that run pretty decent) open for suggestions also its an automatic ,thanks in advance

Additionally, you should, key word should have a Windows XP laptop (or computer/monitor to drag to garage) to use when tuning the car. Others have run it successfully on later versions of Windows, however it is most stable on XP. It has to be run under Windows XP compatibility.
Cant add too much power w an A4 without significantly beefing up the 4l60. Torque converter, exhaust and rear gear change are all good mods for a stock car.

But seriously, I think a tune is your best first step. You've got an OB2 so there are more options than my OB1. I can't speak from Corvette experience--as I've not installed my chip from PCM of NC yet-- but on my Miata, the single biggest performance boast, before installing my 2.5L, was a tune. It's like having the car the original designers conceived of!
Unless you want to go nuts well the auto is a limiting factor it's easy to spend mo money on the trans that the motor .
I would say to improve on what you got .
I say headers a touch bigger cam ported heads little lower gear lot's mail order tuns around have to shop for the pest one have to stay mild in whatever you do ,there's a fine line between mild and wild .I did a 96 LT4 a few back and did just that mild upgrade ( it was a 6-speed ) so could go a little more wide but was happy with what I came up with .
I did rework the springs shocks brakes with some HD stuff it was a fun ride for sure I could hang with most ,for sure was not a Z car but I did not have Z money in it either ..
No intake or exhaust mods (LT1 system flows nicely). Header, really if you have other mods. Tune on a stock motor?? Yes on a modded one.I would do gears 1st, torque converter requires trans removal
After you drive it for a bit call Lloyd Elliott in Texas for porting your intake, custom cam, ported heads....then torque converter and headers. He (I believe) uses Moe Bailey for tuning

thats kind of a downer, any real success stories using the jet tuner?
well in the last 3 weeks i went on a binge(a girl broke my heart so i broke the bank account) i bought a 2016 Z06,2020 GT500, this Vette, 1979 dodge lil red express truck, and a 1998 jeep wrangler.....so not much money left, i would like mid 12s in the 1/4.......no girlfriend but lots of cool toys

AFAIK, that is the only game in town, more or less if you want to tune. I would think that with any tuner, you are going to have to invest time and some money into the project. As to whether it is worth it or not for a one shot deal is up to you. Personally, for such a platform, I would rather pay someone to do it so I can spend more time driving and less time tweaking the tune till I get it right. Way I see it, if you are modding constantly, it is definitely a good ROI. If you are doing it to a point and stopping there, assuming you get it done decently, how much more is there to tune?

It's not how much money is left. You can always earn more even if you don't have any today. The question is how much the project is going to be worth. In my case, I am done with the platform so I'm maintaining it till it has a catastrophic failure and then it is something with an LS motor. Could I afford an LS motor in it today? Absolutely. Is it worth it to me? Definitely not. When I inquired about it, they all basically told me that if I wasn't in love with the C4 and plan to keep it forever, it would be cheaper and easier to buy a car with an LS motor than to shoehorn one in and make every system work as it should.

always wanted a pantera...i remember seeing them on sale at the lincoln dealer for an astronomical $10,000.... great looking car though
Except for the price. I can't wait for open source alternatives to finally bear fruit. My test hardware is chomping at the bit.
$400 isn't a bad price if it can tune the entire thing. Considering what I would spend to modify the car to justify tuning, I would think it would be hardly worth the time to complain.
