afr 190...this is a no brainer. #1 the fast burn has a raised runner which means you run a scoggin doggy tpi base or a miniram 3, the fast burns don't flow as well as the 190 and they have larger runners which make less velocity.
Agreed the AFR heads are a choice product! just be aware that some minor machining/deburring of the oil return passages is recommended as the oiling return holes are simple drilled holes that are a bit high for good return and cause some puddling above the valve cover/cylinder head mating surface which in my experience has lead to leaking or hard sealing valve covers. but the performance is excellent from these heads!
Just another consideration here, I will be buying Canfield 220CC for my 406! They make a 195 CC, and dont pay attention to the pricing on the home page of Canfield. Email me if you want a link to the best pricing I have found so far on their heads.
Also, in doing a side by side the Canfields are vrtually identical in flow and better flow in spots on the 220CC version. You can go to the AFR site and the Canfield site and print the flow charts and do a side by side! http://www.canfieldheads.com/sbc.html
I've got the Dart Pro1 200's on my new 408. The flow numbers on them are extremely good and the quality is very nice. They are definetely worth looking at.
