Default i really need some help. trying to scan with tunerpro rt.

1990 6spd cpe, tunerpro rt 5, tried three different adx files. nome work.

something about ccm chatter. argh.

I really really suck at this. I need help.

i will be selling the L98 and ZF6 from the coonvette i just brought home. I want to resolve a high idle and rich condition it has and i do not want to throw parts at it. Then i can sell the engine/trans combo for a good price to help fund the LT5 swap.

Im not sure what im doing wrong. i cant get the connection between tprt and the aldl port.

im using an aldl usb cable with the little jumper. ive tried every combonation of jumper position.

no dice.

all i get are the readings on the fritz all over the place, and the little blue and red flashing da data error / da connected flashing.

halp!!!

Under the top menu in TP RT, click "Tools", then "Preferences". Try selecting different COM ports.

One of the ALDL (ALDLcable.com or WINALDL.com?) cable websites should have a pic of the correct pin configuration. IIRC, it should be set at the 10k position.

Same problem too. You need an adx that tells the ccm to shut up but I have not been successful in connecting. One thing I do know is if you get it connected w the key on engine off, once you try to start, the ccm will start to chatter. Soooo...to get around that, you need to start engine first then start datalog.

My 90 C4 came w 1320 BT adapter and I've been able to datalog utilizing that with aldldroid. I have not tried it with BT and tprt yet. If you beat me to what works, please do share.

Default thnx guys.

As always thank you guys. I think i will give barking dogs method a shot.

That said.....i did happen to stumble on what may have been the root cause. I scanned my 91 ZR1 tonight and it connected fine while i was holding the usb plug firmly squeezing btwn my thumb and pointer finger. when i released the pressure.....lost the connection!!

Ripped it apart and i believe i have cold solder issues on the mini usb board. pics attached. can now recreate the passed test for valid connection everytime while applying pressure.

will report back tomorrow. thnx guys.

no squuze equal fail.

squeezeing gives positive connection test

i believe the issue is the two solder points on the right hand side of board here.

Default it was the cable.

just providing closure here.

i am not entirely sure which was the offending solder/chip but in the end i had to reflow the entire board using a heatgun while squeazing it in the vice and it now gives me a positive cable communications test everytime.

i found if i squeezed the board it would communicate. i gently squeezed the boar in a vice, then reflowed it all with a heatgun. seems to be fixed for now. this cable is from aldlcable.com and has been used about ten times.

Ok, this cable from aldlcable.com is junk. I reflowed the board and the connection was restored but as soon as you move the cable a bit it craps out again.

Id like to buy a new cable. can i get a recommendation for a good quality cable? where did u guys purchase them. thnx.

I have BT adapter from 1320 electronic, works great with my android phone but have had no luck getting it to connect with my win 10 laptop that has TP on it, they do have a usb cable that I may try in future. I have a usb also cable from redevil river that gave me the same problems you are having.

Dang, that's weird. I had no issues with mine from the same place.

I did have an issue on my laptop where the actual USB port would get iffy because the contacts got bent, but I just switched USB ports (and made sure that when the laptop was in the seat, it wasn't putting weight on the USB cable). Hasn't been a problem since.
