Default C4 brake upgrade

Hey everyone,
I’m going to be doing a brake upgrade on my 88 with some c5 calipers. After having paid way to much for the adaptor brackets I realized they are stupid easy to make. I was thinking I could make some more myself and I was wondering if the c6 calipers will fit the same brackets. Also if the c6 z06 calipers will fit. I figured I could make a more universal bracket and sell them for cheaper than those $200 ones. I mean it’s just ridiculous.

No the C6 Z06 calipers do NOT fit on the regular C4 to C5 adapter brackets.

Vansteel makes C6 Z06 adapter brackets for the front. For the rear if you have an 88-96 and want to retain the e-brake you have to contact street shop inc. and have them make you one of their C4 to C6 Z06 rear park brake hubs.

You'll also need 18' wheels to do the C6 Z06 swap, new brake hoses and brake line flare fitting adapters.

Here's my C6 Z06 brakes on my LS swapped 88'

Street shop inc, rear park brake hubs: (talk to Tray)

Vansteel front adapter brackets for C6 Z06 calipers.

In order to make us the the street shop inc. rear park brake hub you'll also need a lokar ebrake cable and clevis kit:

I used to have C6 Z51/J55 brakes but decided to step up to C6 Z06 brakes with 2 piece DBA rotors and S/S DRM caliper piston upgrade.

my old setup:

Here's why you can't use regualr C4 to C5 brackets with the C6 Z06 calipers...

The brake line banjo bolt wants to occupy the same space as the spindle with the regular C5 adapter brackets so they don't work.

Best of Luck on your brake swap, hope that helps you out!

Hey there I am ubber new to the Corvette Lifestyle and Family. I saw this post and thought this was probably the best response or in depth I've seen. But I do need help. I've noticed the c4 vette is...super limited on the rear caliper department perce. Im very use to Mustangs 98 in particular where I can just pick up a whole kit plug and play upgrade. So directly to my question I have a humble base 96 Corvette with the LT1 stock wheels. What can I use with the stock wheel to upgrade the rears where I could just use, powerstop calipers, or one day brembo or wilwood. This is a daily driver. I just want good brakes and powerstop has been very good for my Mustang and I wanna give this same treatment to my Vette and have ease of part replacement if and when the time comes. If any of this makes sense. I appreciate it in super advance.
