about to replace the valve covers gaskets (oil leaks ), thermostat and fuel pressure regulator (leaking)
watched several videos on line any further advice ?
My son and I are doing it but not pro mechanics

Get a Fel Pro Top End gasket set along with the VC gaskets.
I like to put bolts into separate plastic bags with labels.
Get the 2-volume of FSM for your '89.
Use care with those small hard plastic vacuum lines near the thermostat housing.
Oh, remove the "frisbee" (large disc) from the front of the water pump pulley, for a little added acceleration.
Some people like to take pics along with way for ease of reassembly.
